FAMILY PLANNING INTENSIFICATION
Swabhiman Samiti has endeavored to create a conducive environment for improved access to informed and expanded contraceptive choices through the voices of credible community champions and other key stakeholders. Building off on the project's achievements and learning, ss now envisages an intensified engagement with select 30 CCs to influence demand for family planning services and strengthen feedback mechanism with government bodies to improve supplies and services. SS has financial support from global health strategies with effect from 1t January 2019 to 30 June 2019. Below mentioned are key objectives, activities and anticipated deliverables to be achieved during this extension period
Organize trainings of 20 community champions.
Raise issues and challenges identified by Champions at the community level to the local administrators/program implementers for removing bottlenecks.
Community champions engage with key stakeholders at village level through one-on-one meetings/group meetings.
Community champions use available village platforms to disseminate information and relevant IEC materials.
Organise two meetings in three months with block, district officials and district/block TSU members to highlight gaps in family planning supplies and services.
Highlight gaps in family planning supplies and services in project intervention districts and advocate for their resolution at state level meetings organised by GHS.
Utilise available platforms at district and block level to initiate a dialogue on family planning services and supplies on key health days and disseminate relevant IEC material.
Participate in the Divisional / District Technical Support Group-Uttar Pradesh meetings, share learnings and takeaways about the gaps identified and recommendations to the decision-makers (district officials)
